RAWALPINDI- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his key cabinet members were briefed over national security matters, at Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
According to media reports, Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif and other military officers briefed the PM over army’s achievements in the ongoing operations in Khyber Agency and North Waziristan.
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Prime Minister's Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatmi, were also present in the briefing.
Sources said the implementation of death penalty for terrorists was also discussed in the meeting. The government and military have reaffirmed their determination to defeat the Taliban, following Tuesday’s school massacre of 141 people in Peshawar.
