LoC deaths: Designed by Indian Army for propaganda, says Musharraf

NEW DELHI  - Former Pakistani President General retd Pervez Musharraf on Friday lashed out at Indian media for fabricating false stories against Pakistan's armed forces forcing the channel to cut-off the programme before its actual time.
In an interview with Times Now, Gen Pervez Musharraf fought tooth and nail to defend the Pakistan Army’s stand dismissing allegations that the Indian soldier was beheaded by Army.
A visibly aggressive Musharraf, heaped the blame of deteriorating relations with India on the latter, saying there had been no effort from India to maintain civilised relations. “Beheading a soldier and sending back his body is inexcusable. However, knowing the Pakistan Army, I can say for sure that it is not in our culture to do something as horrific as that. No disciplined army would do that,” said Musharraf. When asked by the anchor that why Pakistan was not acting against Lashkar-e-Taiba, Musharraf questioned as to why India was not doing anything against extremist party Shiv Sena.  “Can Indian government dare to take action against Shiv Sena,” he shot back at the anchor.
Responding to a question about long march, Musharraf said that India had no right to ask about Pakistan’s internal affairs.
On the claim of mutilating the body of Indian soldier by Pakistan on Line of Control (LoC) by Indian anchor, the ex-army chief said, “Pakistan Army did not mutilate the body of any Indian solider and it never does so”.
He said India was deliberately escalating the tensions on Line of Control. Pakistan Army, he said, believes in resolving all disputes, including Kashmir, with India. “Is this your democracy that India sent back Pakistan hockey players and artists,” Musharraf forcefully asked anchor of the show.
The former president went on to add that India has always had an inclination to be hysterical about everything. “The politicians, media everyone in India have a tendency to be hysterical about everything,” he added.
"All that I would like to say is that peace must prevail and this must stop. No sane person would think that this escalation is in anyone's interest," he said when asked his opinion on the fresh tensions between both countries. Musharraf declined to blame his country for the tension.
He also said he could not believe that Pakistani soldiers could have crossed the LoC and killed and beheaded Indian soldiers.
