Twenty security personnel martyred, 30 injured in Bannu blast

Twenty security personnel were killed while thirty other injured when a planted device ripped in a convoy, within the limits of Bannu on Sunday.
According to ISPR, a convoy of security forces, en route to Razmak from Bannu, was hit by an explosion, killing twenty security personnel.
The blast also injured thirty others. The explosive device was planted in one of the vehicle of the convoy.
Meanwhile, security forces cordoned off the area and started combing operation to nab the culprits.
President Mamnoon Hussain has strongly condemned the blast in Bannu that resulted into loss of precious lives while injured many.
In his message‚ the President said that such cowardly attacks can never weaken the resolve of our law-enforcing authorities and the nation to continue pursuing their struggle against the scourge of militancy and terrorism.
Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families of the martyred‚ the President prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
The President also called upon the concerned to ensure that best medical assistance is provided to the injured.
