Japan cancels Karachi railway project

TOKYO - Government of Japan has cancelled Karachi Circular Railway Project and Finance Minister Senator Finance Ishaq Dar has been informed about the decision by Tokyo in this regard, reported a private TV channel.
Sources said Japanese government had taken the decision after a case was filed against Japanese company.
2.5 billion dollar worth Karachi Circular Railway project was assisted by the Japan government.
On decision, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that government would probe the case filed against the Japanese company, adding, case against the Japanese company was unfortunate and government would launch a thorough investigation into the matter.
The finance minister has ensured the Japanese government that it will investigate filing of a case against the Japanese company.
Ishaq Dar further said that it was very unfortunate for Karachi that Japan had cancelled the project.
The minister said that the government would try to convince the government of Japan to review its decision.
It is not known that who had filed case against the Japanese company.
