BAHAWALPUR - The election tribunal disqualified MNA Sultan Mehmood Hinjra of PML-N and ordered a by-poll in NA-176, Muzaffargarh.
According to details, the election tribunal of Bahawalpur announced its short verdict in the election petition filed by former chief minister Ghulam Mustafa Khar against Sultan Mehmood Hinjra of Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz, who had been declared a successful candidate from NA-176, Muzaffargarh.
During the hearing, the petitioner stated that according to articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution, Malik Sultan was not an honest (Sadiq) and Ameen (truthful) person as he had concealed some facts in his nomination papers.
After hearing the arguments, the tribunal held that Sultan Mehmood Hinjra did not fulfil the requirements of candidature under articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan, declared him ineligible for the membership of the National Assembly and ordered a by-election in NA-176, Muzaffargarh.
