RAHIM YAR KHAN - The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has booked local health officials who got infected with corruption. Following a written complaint by a resident, the Anti-Corruption Establishment registered a case and launched an investigation against the officials. The accused include district health officer (DHO), superintendent of accounts branch, gardener, transport clerk, junior clerk, LHV, driver, dispenser and a clerk of national programme. Few days ago, a resident of Mohalla Qazian, Gul Muhammad, made a complaint to the authorities concerned against accounts superintendent Makhdoom Basharat Hussain, gardener Muhammad Baksh transport clerk Basheer Ahmad, junior clerk Mian Waheed, LHV Kaneez Fatima, medical officer Iqbal, dispenser Ashfaq, national program clerk Faiz, medical officer Zaheer Sattar Ahmad for, what he called, they did corruption of millions through fake bills from the government budget. He alleged that the DHO in connivance with his junior clerk and gardener minting money while his subordinates following him. The DHO is accused of misusing his power as, according to the complaint, several hospital officials serving him at his residence while he had been using official vehicles for non-official engagements and he had been using official fuel.The complaint also raised doubts on the motorcycles for API programme vaccinator. “Official equipments have not been repaired while fake bills are made,” the complaint added. The ACE has kicked off a probe into the matter.
