LAHORE – Nawa-i-Waqt columnist Khalid Ahmad died at 70. Khalid was battling against lungs cancers. He is survived by widow, two sons and a daughter. Khalid had been writing column ‘Lamha Lamha’ for Nawa-i-Waqt.Besides being a known poet, he was an acknowledged playwright and author of a number of books, including ‘Tashbeeb’, ‘Hathaliun Par Charagh’, Pehli Sada Parinday Ki’, Ek Muthi Hawa’ and ‘Num Grifta’ . ‘Kajol Ghar’ was one of his famous plays.His colleagues expressed a deep sense of grief over the sad demise of the legend. They prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
