Revolution through edu at any cost: Hoti

MARDAN - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, on Friday said that due to the entrance of Russia our region got disturbed and our one generation remained far from education and now we are struggling to make the situation normal of this region, safe for our next generation and through education we can easily achieve this aim. “Those people who created this disturbance in the region now are giving lectures to us about this situation,” he said while addressing a public meeting at Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC) after the inauguration of Dentistry Department in BKMC. Dr. Ziaul Islam, Principal of BKMC, Dr. Umar Khitab, Incharge Dentistry Department, also addressed the meeting. Secretary Health Mohammad Ishfaq Khan, Chief Engineer C&W North Ashraf Khan, Commissioner Mardan Mohammad Adil Khan, Deputy Inspector General of police (DIG) Mardan Abdullah Khan, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Zakaullah Khattak and other high-ups were also present at this occasion. The CM said that they can control militancy through education. He said that in the last 60 years rulers established 9 universities but we established 7 universities in the last four years. “It is a great honour for him that today children of Mardan and other parts of the province are studying in Abdul Wali Khan University and Bacha Khan Medical College,” he added.He said that this achievement was not made with his personal struggle “but with a team in shape of Dr. Ziaul Islam and Professor Dr. Ihsan Ali I succeeded to gain this success and established AWKU and BKMC in Mardan.” He further said that now there is shortage of doctors, paramedical and other staff in the hospitals of the province and for this purpose he appointed 480 doctors in different parts of the province and very soon he will also appoint 500 more doctors and at this occasion Chief Minister directed the Secretary Health to fill the needs of doctors in District Headquarters Hospital Mardan.He further said that work is under progress on Banazir Shaheed Children Hospital in Mardan, which will be the first children hospital in public sector in the province. He added that there are several problems like unemployment, shortage of power and others but the government is trying its best to provide better facilities to the masses on their doorsteps. He added that the government has started a project of hydro unit to fulfil the power needs of the province, which would generate 2100 Mega Watt electricity.
