Corps Commander Lt-Gen Abid Pervaiz formally inaugurated Army Public School at Sahiwal on Tuesday as part of a series of initiatives taken by the Pakistan Armed Forces to provide quality education facilities to people.
Speaking on the occasion, the Corps Commander said that better institutions and best teachers were a prerequisite to ensuring quality education to people and added that education to women serve as foundation for positive change in the society, said a press release issued by ISPR Multan on Tuesday.
The initiative taken by the Corps Commander was meant to achieve a broader objective i.e quality education for people of South Punjab, the release said.
Army Public School Sahiwal will formally begin teaching and training students from class one to eight before the commencement of next academic year.
People of the area expressed their delight over the establishment of Army Public School in Sahiwal and hoped that Pakistan Armed Forces would continue to take such education friendly initiatives in future too.
Commissioner Sahiwal division and a large number of locals attended the opening ceremony.
