Multan - The distribution of laptops among 6700 such students of matriculation from Multan and Lodhran, who secured over 78 per cent marks, has begun in Multan district on Monday. Punjab Minister for Prisons Ch Abdul Waheed Arrain distributed laptops. A contingent of Punjab Police presented guard of honour to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Abdul Waheed Arrain said that Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif buried the culture of safarish, bribery and corruption and laid the foundation a merit-based transparent system. He paid glowing tributes to the position and distinction holder students and said that they were nations shining stars who were poised to control the reign of country.
He said that the PML-N government preferred merit in each development project and therefore no one could level charges of corruption or promotion of safarish culture against it. “It’s new Pakistan and our forefathers dreamt of this Pakistan,” he added. He disclosed that the students of private institutions had also been taken on board and were being given laptops.
