SIALKOT-A delegation of Canada-based senior educationists have said that Pakistan is not a failed state as the Nature has blessed it with all the natural resources thus it is an ideal country for foreign investment.
Dr Michael Bopp and Dr Judie Bopp stated this while talking to Muhammad Ejaz Noori, the chairman of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare and Human Rights (PCSWHR), during their visit to PCSWHR offices at Sialkot. They said that Pakistan is not a failed state rather it is an ideal country for foreign investment due to its fabulous geographical conditions and natural resources.
They said that, however, there was a dire need for proper utilisation of the natural resources in Pakistan. He said that the proper utilisation of the natural resources was vital for the multi-dimensional development and prosperity of the country. It will also promote the advanced technology and education in Pakistan, they added.
They said that global unity, peace and harmony had become the need of hour for ensuring peace in the world and alleviate poverty. They narrated that crushing terrorism has become a big challenge for the entire world due to which the international community should promote social tolerance, inter-faith harmony, provision of justice and basic rights to the people. These steps would help a lot end lawlessness, political and social unrest and torture from the society, they said.
Pakistan Council for Social Welfare and Human Rights (PCSWHR) Chairman M Ejaz Noori said that the Pakistan always played its frontline role for the establishment of durable global peace, besides, sacrificing a lot for crushing the terrorism, militancy and insurgency as well, as the Pakistan had ever remained victim of terrorism.
He urged the world and international institutions to announce their unconditional support and full cooperation to Pakistan in its ongoing war against terrorism.
MORGUE SET UP: The Punjab government has established a morgue at Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot.
This is the first and only mortuary for more than 4.2 million population of Sialkot district. It will provide the facility to the public to get the dead bodies stored if needed.
The morgue has the capacity of storing only six dead bodies at a time, the district administration said.
Kh Muhammad Safdar Medical College (KMSMC) Principal Dr Zafar Ali Chaudhary said that the morgue was working under the direct supervision of the KMSMC.
Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Kaleem said that the hospital management charged Rs4,000 for keeping a body stored at the morgue for 24 hours. He said that however there was no body stored at the morgue for the last two months.
