PPP veterans to fight for party's Sindh presidency

LARKANA: Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday announced the names of Qaim Ali Shah, Nisar Khuhro and Maula Bux Chandio as the candidates for the post of PPP Sindh president.

Talking to reporters at Naudero house here, the PPP chief hailed Sunday’s ‘Salam Shuhada’ rally. He thanked the people of Karachi for coming out in support and said the rally sent out a clear message against terrorism.

Bilawal said the October 18, 2007 blast, which killed more than 170 people and injured hundreds, was the biggest terrorist attack in Pakistan’s history. “We witness 9/11 here every week,” he added.

“The people of Pakistan are against terrorism and support democracy,” he said, adding that his party would continue to work to achieve the Pakistan envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

The PPP chairman also demanded that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accept his party's bill on the issue of Panama Leaks or be ready to face slogans of 'Go Nawaz Go'.

Criticising the prime minister’s policies relating to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Bilawal said, “Nawaz Sharif is the prime minister of Pakistan, not just Punjab.”
