KASUR- The district police claimed to have arrested two accused during a search operation conducted in Railway Road area here the other day.
The suspects were identified as Muhammad Sadiq and Akbar Ali.
The police also recovered 14 rifles and 18 guns of different bores, 16 pump action, 35 pistols and 13revolvers during the operation, said DPO police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
“Under the National Action Plan, 60 intelligence-based operations are conducted in a week”, the DPO claimed.
He said that more than 400 intelligence-based operations have been conducted during the current year so far in which over 2000 persons were interrogated. The police also registered cases against outlaws.
He said that 120 cases were registered against violators Amplifier Act, 24 cases were registered against persons over wall chalking act, 175 cases were registered against the house owners for not informing the police about their tenants, 399 cases for possessing illegal weapons and two cases against persons for possessing and distributing hate material.
The DPO claimed that the police also eliminated nine wanted dacoits wanted in more than 100 cases of robbery, dacoity and murder. He said that the law and order situation in the district is improved with the assistance of religious scholars, traders, lawyers and journalists. He appealed to the citizens to keep eye on suspicious elements. He also asked the house owners to get their tenants enrolled in local police stations.
