ISLAMABAD- The government is likely to file a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday against the decision of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) too grantbail to Zaki ur RehmanLakhvi. The government will request the court to suspend the decision of ATC in accepting bail plea of Lakhvi.
As per prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar, the accused was taken into custody under MPO and the government will file an appeal plea against ATC decision on granting bail to Lakhvi.
RazwanAbbasi counsel for Lakhvi said his client was detained in prison since more than five years and enough evidence are not available on involvement of Lakhvi in Mumbai attacks.
India had held proscribed outfit Lashkar-e-Tayyaba responsible for November 26, 2008 Mumbai attacks. Pakistan arrested 7 persons including alleged planner of Mumbai attacks Lakhvi and initiated judicial proceedings against them. These persons have not been awarded punishment so far.
