PESHAWAR- Security Forces have stepped up operation against the terrorists across the country.
As many as 38 terrorists including master mind of Peshawar public school attack have been killed and several of their hideouts smashed in recent attacks by Security Forces, while three security forces personnel have also been martyred.
Security sources said, security forces are continuing its campaign against militants in Khyber Agency and 26 terrorists including master mind of Peshawar public school attack were killed and 8 sanctuaries of the militants were destroyed during the recent strikes by jet planes in Tirah valley.
The terrorists who were killed in the operation hailed from banned Lashkar-e- Islam and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Chief of TTP Khalifa Omar Farooq is also among the militants who were killed in Adam Khel Pass. During a clash with security forces nine terrorists including commander of proscribed outfit were killed while three security forces personnel were killed and 4 were injured in Peshawar and Charsada.
In ground action taken by security forces, five militants of banned outfit were killed while two security forces personnel sustained injuries near Matni in Peshawar. Commander of banned outfit identified as Mustafa has also been killed. Both the injured personnel have been shifted to CMH Peshawar.
A clash is reported to have taken place between police and terrorists in Machni pull at Peshawar. Two suspected militants were killed and one police officer has embraced martyrdom. As per police Ishrat Yar, SHO Mathra police station was martyred in militants firing.
Security forces conducted search operation on a tip off about the presence of insurgents in the area of Saroo police at Charsada. The suspected militants opened fire on security forces and in retaliatory firing by security forces, 2 terrorists were killed. Two security forces personnel also embraced shahadat and two personnel were injured.
Search operation by security forces is underway in different areas of Shabqadar in pursuit of militants. As per security sources 14 suspected militants along with arms have been arrested during search operation.
In Sindh three militants of a banned outfit were killed during clash with Rangers near Ghaghar crossing in Karachi. Rangers Sindh carried out targeted operation.
