No option but to root out terrorism: PML-Q

PESHAWAR - Former chief minister Punjab and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid central leader, Chudhry Pervez Elahi, has said implementation of the decision regarding formation of new committee for National Action Plan should be ensured in order to wipe out terrorism and restore sustainable peace in the country.
While addressing a news conference on Friday here at Press Club, Pervez said, “Had decisions been implemented in time, the nation could have been saved from from such huge loss of precious lives of Peshawar school students.”
“There is no other opinion for the nation but to root up terrorism and perpetrators of massacres from the country,” he observed, adding the December 16th deadliest attack on the school was despicable and dastard act, which is highly commendable.
He further there was still great courage among the school students, fallen prey to terror attack. Earlier in the day, Pervez met with the injured students at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and Lady Reading Hospital (LRH). He stressed the need for eradicating terrorism as it was inevitable for the entire nation and region.
Referring to the Constitution of a Committee for National Action Plan, Pervez Elahi said the political leadership in the country did agree and unanimously took decisions, but the same were not implemented in letter and spirit, despite lapse of four months. He expressed the hope that the new committee would succeed to achieve the desired objectives, and asked to ensure implementation of the decisions.   
Pervez Elahi also commended the Army’s role in the ongoing war on terror, saying sacrifices of the security forces will not go in vain.
He also informed that he also met the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, who has shown his government’s commitment to wipe out terrorism and restore durable peace in the region.   In reply to a query, PML-Q leader Pervez Elahi said this is not the time for blame-game, rather we need to show unity.
Meanwhile, a PML-Q delegation led by former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi called on KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at the CM House and expressed condolence and solidarity with the government and people of the province over the school tragedy.
He was accompanied by Chief Organizer PML-Q Raja Basharat, Tariq Bashir Cheema MNA, Central Vice President Ajmal Wazir and Provincial President KP Intikhab Khan Chamkani. KP Minister for Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and Secretary Information Mohammad Israr Khan were also present on the occasion.
The delegation while strongly condemning the Peshawar tragedy said that it was very inhuman incident which has shaken the conscience of the world community.
Pervez Elahi and other members of the delegation, while expressing satisfaction over measures taken for guaranteeing security, improving law and order situation and particularly the cleansing of police of political interference and establishment of an independent and powerful police force, termed it better and satisfactory.
Both the parties agreed that security and law and order should be made top priority both at provincial and federal levels.
