SIALKOT - The traffic signals installed at China Chowk, Gulistan Chowk, Shahabpura Chowk and Lorry Adda Chowk have been lying out of order for the last three consecutive years, thereby causing prolonged, and frequent traffic jams in the city.
The hours-long traffic jams in these areas have become a daily routine due to which the local commuters are suffering great ordeal. The traffic signals installed at the other parts of Sialkot city were often found nonfunctional due to the prolonged power outages in Sialkot city. PTI leaders Dr Naseem Shakeel and Shahida Manzoor expressed grave concern over the situation. They said that the hours-long traffic jams, caused by the non-functioning of the traffic signals are also halting trade and industrial activities in export-oriented Sialkot city.
