KARACHI-Former lawmaker Raja Muhammad Afzal Khan along with his sons Raja Muhammad Asad Khan and Raja Muhammad Safdar Khan, who were elected on the ticket of the PML-N in 2008, announced joining the PPP.When PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif was addressing a public gathering in Nawabshah, hometown of President Asif Ali Zardari, Raja Afzal with his two sons announced the switchingSaturday.In presence of Faryal Talpur, Religious Affair Minister Syed Khurshi Ahmed Shah and Haji Nawaz Khokhar, Raja Afzal announced joining the ruling party at a press conferenceat the Bilawal House where they also met with PPP ChairmanBilawal Bhutto Zardari.Raja Afzal held a meeting with President Zardari and other PPP leaders and discussed his future role in the PPP.Raja Afzal told the media that steps taken by the PPP for the betterment of country and its policies inspired him.He said that he will not criticise the PML-N or any other politician because ‘it is the responsibility of every politician to strengthendemocracy.PPP MNA Faryal Talpurwelcomed the Raja family in the party and claimed that the people are happy with the reconciliation policy of the president.She said that more leaders would join the PPP before the next elections.Few days ago PML-N chief Nawaz Sharifaccepted PPP’s estranged MNA Syed Zafar Ali Shah in his party. It is expected that both parties will continue luring each other’s members before elections.
