Training session on kitchen gardening held

Our Staff reporter TOBA TEK SINGH - Daylong training session on kitchen gardening for winter vegetables was held here in collaboration with the Caritas Pakistan the other day. The officials of the Social Welfare Department, Agriculture Department and representatives of various NGOs of Tehsil Toba Tek Singh attended the training session. Mubarak Yaqoob, an agriculture expert from Caritas Pakistan and Pirmahal Agriculture Officer Muhammad Akram conducted the training and shed light on the importance and significance of the training. While addressing the participants, District Officer (Agriculture) Shabir Afzal Warraich, District Officer Social Welfare Muhammad Irfan, Mohammad Khalid and training coordinator Sadaqat Sardar stressed the participants to take interest in kitchen gardening to fulfil vegetable requirement of their families and get fresh vegetables all the time. Master trainers talked about the scope and importance of kitchen gardening and said it is need of the hour for the household food security, balance and proper nutrition and safe environment. They gave a comprehensive plan on production know-how of winter vegetables. On the occasion, Ms Shagufta, a representative of an NGO, assured that they would work for the promotion of kitchen gardening in the district. Ms Rukhsana Khadam and Amir Rafique also spoke about the kitchen gardening. While addressing the participants, PTI central leader Ghiasuddin Janbaz said that with collusion of each other, the PPP and the PML-N had ruined the national economy and people of the country have realized that they committed a mistake by voting both the parties to the power.
