RAWALPINDI - Two motorcyclists died when a dumper ran over them on IJP Road on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as 17-year-old Bilal and 45-year-old Amir. Rescue officials who participated in shifting the victims to District Headquarters Hospital said Amir died on the spot. However, Bilal was shifted in critical condition but he also succumbed to injuries. The dumper driver escaped from the scene after mishap.
A dispute over the jurisdiction surfaced when relatives of the deceased visited Sabzimandi police station of Islamabad and Naseerabad police station of Rawalpindi for registration of case. When they went to Naseerabad police station to register FIR they were asked to contact Sabzimandi police station and they got the same type of response from Sabzimandi police. When the relatives threatened to block IJP Road, Naseerabad police agreed to register the FIR.
 However, the report was not registered till filing of this report.
