N aspirant proposes Nawab Abbasi for NA-189 ticket

AHMEDPUR EAST - Former MNA PML-N Makhdoom Syed Ali Hassan Gillani who was aspirant to the party's ticket, has instead, proposed the name of Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi for the party ticket for constituency NA-183 of Ahmedpur East for the upcoming general elections.
Hassan Gillani presented his proposal to the party's district election review committee, being headed by MPA Mohsin Ranjha. He also proposed the name of former Ahmedpur East Municipal Committee chairman Mian Mohammad Ilyas Ayaz for the party candidate for constituency PP-268 Ahmedpur East and himself sought the party nomination for constituency PP-267 Chanigoth, Uch.
Hassan Gillani's step brother Makhdoom Syed Samiul Hassan Gillani, a former MNA and Ahmedpur East tehsil nazim is also in the run to win the PML-N nomination for NA-183.
Hassan Gillani won the National Assembly seat back in 2002 while contesting on the PML-Q ticket but he later joined the PML-N due to differences with former Bahawalpur district nazim Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema. However, Samiul Hassan Gillani is yet to join the PML-N.
However, local political analysts anticipate that Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi will neither accept the PML-N ticket nor of the PPP and will contest the election from platform of his own Bahawalpur National Awami Party (BNAP), which he has launched last year.
Meanwhile, a local PML-N leader Malik Mohammad Ramzan Janjua has demanded the PML-N leadership to task Hamza Shahbaz Sharif or Khawaja Saad Rafique with resolving the differences among PML-N Ahmedpur East chapter.
He also criticised Qazi Adnan Farid, aspirant for the PML-N provincial assembly ticket who is the first cousin of Political Assistant to Punjab CM Muhammad Balighur Rehman, and urged PML-N President Nawaz Sharif to award PP-268 ticket to a party loyalist instead of a newcomer.
