Arrangements for BB's death anniversary reviewed

Larkana- A meeting was presided over by the Larkana Division Commissioner, Dr Saeed Mangnejo, today in which arrangements for observing 7th death anniversary of slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto were discussed. The meeting was attended by all relevant officers of the division, including DIG Police, Larkana range, Saeen Rakhiyo Mirani, deputy commissioners, Rangers representative and other related officers.

The commissioner directed SSP and Special Branch officers to install walkthrough gates and CCTV cameras on sensitive points to ensure foolproof security in the event. Scouts will be asked to perform their duties during the event which will be held on December 27, 2014 at Garhi Khuda Bux. Control rooms will be established at the commissioner and deputy commissioner offices in Larkana which would work round-the-clock to monitor the situation. He directed all the participating DCs to ensure cleanliness, proper lighting and signboards at all major routes so that incoming workers may not face any difficulty. He also directed the Works and Services Department, National Highway Authority officials to complete their road development works before December 27. He further directed the health department heads to establish medical camps along all routes leading to Garhi Khuda Bux and medical mobile service must also be started two days before the anniversary celebrations along those roads, while all health units and hospitals must also work 24 hours which should be equipped with all necessary equipment, instruments and required medicines. Mangnejo also directed WAPDA authorities that no electricity load shedding should be made during the event and standby generators must also be arranged. Commissioner asked public health engineering department to ensure availability of potable water for the activists who are expected to arrive from all four corners of the country to take part. He directed the participants to prepare contingency plan of their respective departments and submit the same to him well in advance.
