Lawmakers for merger of Fata into KP

ISLAMABAD: Members of Parliament have called for merger of Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for peace and development of the area.

They were addressing at a Consultative Workshop with parliamentarians of FATA on the Future of Governance Reforms in FATA which was organised by Fata Research Centre in Islamabad.

Addressing the event, Pakistan Peoiples Party (PPP) leader Farhatullah Babar said that the merger of FATA into KP is the most feasible option. Awami National Party (ANP) leader Afrasiab Khattak said that the merger of FATA into KP should be materialised through the Parliament.

Member of National Assembly (MNA) Alhaj Shah Jee Gul Afridi said that the FATA Parliamentarians are going to present the resolution of FATA's merger into KP in the National Assembly (NA).

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) MNA Shehryar Afridi said that on behalf of his party KP government welcomes FATA's merger with KP. The event was attended by other representatives of all major political parties of KP and FATA.
