PML-N postpones sit-in in Peshawar

PESHAWAR - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, has postponed its sit-in scheduled for today against the PTI-led government in the province.

The decision was taken following the Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s statement that they would not promote culture of sit-ins and protests in the country.

“We decided to call off our scheduled sit-in in Peshawar,” N-League senior provincial leader Arbab Khizar Hayat told the Nation.

“Our sit-in was planned to highlight bad governance and corruption of PTI government in KP.  Actually PML-N is against the blockade of any city just for personal interest,” he said, adding political forces should promote culture of accommodating each other.

Instead of promoting democratic culture and values, a specific party has been trying its level best to encourage political chaos and violence, which was regrettable, he said.

Though, sit-ins and protests are the beauty of democracy, however, people are well aware of the nefarious designs of the PTI and its leadership, Arbab Khizar said.

He added that he was sure enough that people would not come out on PTI’s call to block Islamabad on November 2 next.
