Woman murdered over ‘petty theft charges’

KANGANNPUR - A woman, said to be mother of two, was murdered over petty theft charges here the other day.
Irfan, son of the deceased Seeman, told the Kanganpur Police that four accused including Amin along with his sons - Munir, Rashid, Nazir and Qurban, armed with knives and axes, stormed his house, accusing his mother (Seeman) of stealing valuables from their home. He claimed that the culprits attacked his mother, uncle Abbas and brother Liaqat Ali, who were also present in the house. Resultantly, they received critical injuries and were rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced the woman as dead. The doctors, however, referred Liaqat Ali to General Hospital Lahore due to his critical condition. The police have registered a case and started further investigation. Later, the police searched the deceased woman’s house but found no valuable as was claiming by the accused.
