N, PPP dubbed sides of same rusty coin

SIALKOT-PTI Central Punjab President Barrister Mansur Sarwar Khan has said that the PML-N and PPP are the two sides of the same rusty coin, and hoodwinking the nation to save their vested interests.
Addressing a meeting of the party workers held bordering village Gandiyaal of Sialkot, he said that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf had become the only ray of hope for economic stability and national development.
He said that both the PML-N and PPP were unwilling to take interest in the national issues and unable to make solid steps to resolve the prolonged problems of the people. He said that the PTI, if voted into the power, would curb social and political deprivation.
WORK EXAMINED: MPAs Manshaullah Butt and Muhammad Ikram have given a deadline of June 30, 2014 for the completion of reconstruction and dualisation of Hajipura Road Sialkot. The parliamentarians inspected the construction work of the road and asked the contactors to ensure timely completion of the project ensuring the use of quality material and establishing Naullahs along the road. They said that the government was spending Rs90 million on the project.
special rebate for industries: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the federal government to announce 10 percent special rebate for the Sialkot industries for the next four months to offset the adverse effects of the sudden appreciation of Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar.
It said that the increase in rupee’s value of 12 percent from Rs108 a US Dollar to Rs96 would wreak the value added exports. SCCI President Dr Sarfraz Bashir stated this while talking to the newsmen at SCCI. SVP Mian Muhammad and vice president Khawar Sapal were also present. The SCCI president added that early announcement of 10 percent special rebate for coming four months would be helpful for the industry to overcome the financial losses in this regard.
He said that the decrease in the value of US Dollar was causing great financial losses to the Sialkot exporters, who had fixed their business deals with their foreign customers in US Dollar (Rs.108 in Pak Rupee) earlier before the devaluation of the Dollar. Now, the foreign customers were making payments in the US Dollar to their business partners in Sialkot-Pakistan.
He said that the strengthening of the Pak Rupee against US Dollar was a very good and healthy sign for the national economy, but at the same time depreciation in the value of US Dollar was causing great financial losses to the Sialkot exporters.
He asked the government to make some effective and positive measure to heal the wounds of Sialkot exporters. He added that there was no decrease in the prices of the imported goods (especially the raw materials) despite the decline in the US Dollar prices, due to which the Sialkot exporters were also suffering losses. He urged the federal government to ensure early reduction in the prices of the imported goods to facilitate the business community, besides, reducing the POL prices, utility bills and daily-use commodities.
