PESHAWAR - At least two people were killed and in-charge Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) got injured in separate blasts in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday.
According to police, a roadside remote controlled explosion occurred in the Loni area of Dera Ismail Khan's Kolachi tehsil and subsequently two people Zainullah and Shamsur Rehman sustained severe injuries.
They were being shifted to Dera Ismail Khan District Headquarters for medical treatment but succumbed to their injuries on the way.
Following the explosion, a tip-off was received regarding more bombs in the area. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team personnel reached the site of explosion and defused four bombs.
Bomb Disposal Squad in-charge Inayatullah was injured when an IED exploded while he was defusing it.
Security personnel cordoned off the area and a probe into the incident was underway. Police also conducted a search action, however, no arrest was made till filing of this report. Meanwhile, a former Naib Nazim of ANP remained unhurt while his two guards' sustained injuries in a bomb blast in Charsadda here on Monday. According to details, former ANP Naib Nazim Union Council Nisatta Fazli Khaliq Khan was on way in his vehicle when suddenly a bomb planted by unknown miscreants exploded at Mardan road near Kaladher village. Subsequently his two guards identified as Awal Sher and Sajjad sustained injuries.
While former Naib Nazim Fazli Khaliq remained safe in the explosion. The injured were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital. The vehicle of Fazli Khaliq Khan was also damaged in the blast.
Nobody claimed responsibility for the incident.
Police cordoned off the area and started investigations. According to police, some two kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.
