Zarb-e-Azb to continue till terror ends: Kh Asif

Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the operation Zarb-e-Azb will continue till the complete elimination of terrorism from the country.
He said that the government was committed to weeding out terrorism as there was no room for militancy, insurgency and terrorism in a democratic country. He was talking to the party workers and local people at his residence at Sialkot Cantt while listening to their problems.
He said that the government would not leave the internally displaced persons leave in the lurch, adding that the IDPs had been sacrificing a lot by leaving their homes due to the operation. He said that the government had ensured the security of IDPs and early and smooth provision of all the basic facilities.
Asif revealed that the armed forces of Pakistan and the nation would win the fight against terrorism, saying that the whole nation stands united against terrorism and was ready to sacrifice even their lives along with the armed forces of Pakistan to eliminate the menace.
He said that the Zarb-e-Azb operation was meeting with great success, as the network of the terrorists was being uprooted rapidly. The armed forces were chasing the terrorists and terrorism would be eliminated across the country. The federal minister narrated that the opposition parties were doing politics of conflict and not sincere to the nation. The elements claiming to hold Azadi March and to bring so-called revolution must think about the political and economic stability of the country first. He said that the government was striving to ensure early political and economic stability in Pakistan and making it a prosperous country as envisaged by Quaid-i-Azam Muhamamd Ali Jinnah.
Negligent cops sent behind bars: Police remained unable to arrest the six under-trial prisoners who had escaped from the Sambrial judicial lock-up the other day.
When contacted, Sialkot District Police Officer Muhamamd Gohar Nafees said that special police teams led by senior police officials were raiding at various places to ensure early arrest of the accused.
The absconders were identified as Azmat alias Motu, Luqman alias Gona, Muhammad Qasim, Ghulam Rasul, Zubair Latif and Muzamal Shafiq. Azmat alias Motu and Luqman alias Gona are brothers who had killed two police constables in an encounter near Begowala police station about two years ago.
On the report of Inspector Rana Nadeem Tariq, the Sambrial police have registered a case against the negligent cops including Inspector Muhammad Yousaf, ASI Muhammad Ayub and twelve other policemen. Police have arrested all these accused policemen and sent them behind bars.
