Nisar calls Sindh Rangers DG for consultation on Karachi Operation

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar on Thursday called Sindh Rangers Director General (DG) Bilal Akbar and expressed reservations over deliberate hindrances created in Rangers’ authorities to achieve political goals.

During the discussion, Nisar directed to call off all Rangers personnel deployed on VIPs’ security. He praised Rangers and said that they were playing an important role to ensure peace in Karachi, despite facing difficulties in acquisition of extra policing powers.

He assured Rangers DG that federal government will ensure Rangers presence in accordance with constitutional law in order to provide security to the people of Sindh.

The minister also said that Karachi and Sindh will be assisted with legal protection and hoped that Sindh government will fulfill its responsibilities in this matter. He also said that he would call Sindh Chief Minister (CM) and try to remove his concerns as well
