KARACHI (APP) - Bilawal House Spokesman Ejaz Durrani has demanded immediate arrest of absconding former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Rana Maqbool Ahmed for inhuman torture and conspiracy to kill President Asif Ali Zardari during the latters illegal imprisonment. In a press statement issued by Bilwal House Media Cell on Sunday, Ejaz Durrani expressed his confidence that the Lahore High Court would order his arrest and hand over him to the Sindh police when Rana Maqbool appears before the court on June 22. Rana Maqbool Ahmed, as IGP Sindh, had kidnapped Asif Ali Zardari illegally from jail and shifted him to Civil Lines Police Station, Karachi on the orders of Saifur Rehman during Nawaz Sharifs government, the statement alleged. It added that President Asif Ali Zardari was subjected to inhuman torture in which he was seriously injured. It also said taking cognisance of this heinous crime, the Sindh High Court had declared Rana Maqbool as absconder and orders for his arrest were also issued to Interpol but sadly Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was violating the court decision by protecting his personal servant. The statement further said it was an abundantly clear evidence of violation of the SHC decision by Shahbaz Sharif by appointing Rana Maqbool Ahmed as Prosecutor General Punjab, who is involved in the conspiracy to kill President Zardari. The spokesman said that Rana Maqbool will appear before Chief Justice of Lahore High Court on June 22 in a suo moto notice and his arrest under a decision of SHC would decide the constitutional and legal position of the Chief Justice of LHC, the statement concluded.
