Audit of NADRA initiated after eight years: Interior Minister

ISLAMABAD- Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the number of director generals in national database and registration authority (NADRA) has been reduced from 36 to 24. Addressing a news conference today after chairing a board meeting of NADRA, Chaudhry Nisar said the audit of the facility has been started after eight years.
The minister said NADRA earned a profit of about Rs 100 million during the last two months as a result of the measures taken by the incumbent government. He said the process for appointing NADRA’s chairman is underway in a highly transparent manner.
First formal direct talks between the government dialogue committee and the Taliban would be held during the next few days, Nisar said. He added that some forces wanted to sabotage the dialogue process. He said Islamabad Safe City project has been approved. An agreement to this effect would be signed with a Chinese company.
