Hajj quota of private companies reduced

FAISALABAD: The ministry of religious affairs has reduced Hajj quota of private companies. The Hajj Organizers Association of Pakistan (HOAP) has voiced strong protest over reduction in their quota besides lodging a complaint with Saudi government against the move.
HOAP regional chairman Hafiz Shafiq Kashif while talking to Online alleged that minister for religious affairs Sardar Yusuf had violated the court’s decision and national assembly and senate committees’ recommendations by making changes in the Hajj quota. The ministry has allocated 60 per cent quota for government and 40 percent quota for private hajj operators.

Kashif alleged that a commission involved in hiring buildings for Pakistani pilgrims on high rent has once again become active. “If Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif does not take notice then he should be ready to face another Hajj scandal,” he said.

Sindh High court had issued stay order against reduction in the Hajj quota till March 31 but the sitting minister has trampled the stay, he claimed.
