At least three people were killed in separate mishaps that took place in different parts of the district during the past 24 hours.
As per detail, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Aslam along with a police party conducted a raid to arrest Aslam Zia, a resident of Mauza Madoki situated in the remit of the Satellite Town Police.
When the police party reached the house of Zia, his relatives attacked the raiding party. Meanwhile, the wanted culprit cousin’s Mudasser was injured during crossfire and died on the spot.
At which, relatives of the deceased took out a protest rally against the police, and blocked traffic on Gojra Road. The police high-up rushed to the spot and after negotiation with them, the protesters dispersed peacefully. The Satellite Town Police have registered a murder case against SI Muhammad Aslam.
In a road mishap, 11-year-old student was killed. Reportedly, Samer Iqbal, a resident of Warryam Wala was coming back home from school when suddenly a speeding pick-up van hit him. Resultantly, he sustained serious injuries and was referred to Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
In another road mishap which took place on Jhang-Multan Road, a motorcyclist was killed. Muhammad Yasin, a resident of Kotla Zareef, was going on a bike when suddenly recklessly driven car hit him. As a result, he sustained critical wounds and was referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan but unfortunately he breathed his last on the way to hospital.
