Moderate intensity earthquake jolted Chitral and adjoining areas in the wee hours of Wednesday but no loss was reported.
According to geological wing of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) an earthquake measuring 2.9 on Richter scale was felt in Chitral and surrounding localities.
Dwellers of the area rushed out of their homes in panic but no human or property loss was reported due to the tremor.
The epi-centre of the earthquake was spotted in Pattan, deep inside earth crust, the department said.
