PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has said that the southern parts of the province, especially Kohat division and its adjoining tribal belt, is going to become a hub of economic activities in the near future. This, he added, would become possible not only due to increased oil and gas and precious minerals production in the region but because of completion of under construction road network both via South and North Waziristan Agencies, adding that the development would add the new bridge at Khushalgarh over Indus River as well. All these projects are meant to get access to Central Asian States for promotion of trade through land routes.
He was addressing as the chief guest at the 17th Parents Day function of Garrison Cadet College at Kohat on Saturday. Cadet Ahmad Abdullah was adjudged the best cadet of the year and was awarded coveted honour of the institution which the Ayubi House achieved the champion’s trophy. Smart contingent of cadets presented well disciplined march past; demonstrated gymnastic skills; PT shows; cultural activities and received appreciation from the audience who besides parents of cadets, senior military and civil officials were also included elites of the area.
The governor asked the students to develop the habit of personal and collective discipline in their lives, which, he remarked, is the hallmark all the progressive nations. “You are the future leaders of Pakistan with tremendous responsibilities on your shoulders and you must strive for excellence in education; inculcate national values and steer the beloved motherland to the path of progress and prosperity”, he added.
Barrister Masood Kausar said that realization to the importance of goal-oriented education very much exists and the government is making efforts for attainment of the desired standards in this respect. He reminded the cadets that their parents are rendering a great deal of sacrifices for their education and they must come upto their expectations. “You should also remain cognizant of your responsibilities towards the community, society and above all the country as the whole and to achieve the desired goals, fully devote your energies for acquiring knowledge which is essential for prosperity of the country and yourself too”, he said.
Appreciating the performance of the college, the Governor said that though this is relatively new amongst its sister institutions yet it has attained a permanent place in the ranks of elite educational institutions of the country in a very short span of 19 years and emerged an ideal institution. Referring to the Annual performance report presented by the Principal of the College, Brig. (R0 Tariq Saeed, the Governor also highly eulogized the performance of cadets from FATA and assured that every possible step will be taken to help them in getting higher education.
Meanwhile, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) President, Yousaf Sarwar has said that strategic management was essential for development of small industries and business, particularly key economic targets.
He said that system would not only bring economic stability, but also create employment opportunities. He expresses these views while addressing at a training program organized by SCCI in collaboration with National Productivity Organization on “Strategic Management” here at chamber house on Saturday.
On occasion, Senior Vice president, Malik Iftikhar Awan, Anees Ashraf, members of executive body Zahidullah Shinwari, Imran, Saddar Gul, and Iqbal, NPO Incharge at Regional officer, Ahsan Laiq, Consultant, Usman Haider along with representatives of different organizations were present.
Mr Yousaf Sarwar said that there was mandatory to fully implement basic doctrines of strategic management for development industrial and trade. He added the Public-private partnership would bring further improvement in this regard. He appreciated the step of the National Productivity organization for arranging the training program, stressed the need for taking such initiatives in future. Zahidullah Shinwari, while speaking on the occasion, said the training program would helpful for economic stability and industrial growth and development in the province.
Earlier, Usman Haider informed the participants about the strategic management and highlighted the importance and objectives, stressing for execution of basic doctrines in this regard.
