ANP worker killed, workers stage sit in outside CM House

KARACHI- One Awami National Party (ANP) worker got killed and two injured as a result of firing and cracker attack hurled at ANP workers by armed unidentified persons in Mominabad Karachi today.

The ANP worker was killed when he was busy in hoisting party flags along with others comrades in Frontier Colony area of SITE Town. SSP West said raids are being extensively conducted in order to arrest the culprits.

Workers of ANP led by Bashir Jan staged a protest by placing the body of the deceased outside the chief minister’s house and announced to continue the protest till the culprits get arrested. However, on the assurance given by the Sindh government, workers wrapped up the protest.

ANP leader Bashir Jan said that the provincial government had failed in providing protection to his party workers. SHO and DSP of the area were suspended over the killing.

Meanwhile Police claim to have arrested a man involved in the murder of SHO Preedy police station Ghazanfar Qasmi.

According sources, police managed to arrest the cop killer on a tip off.  SHO Qasmi was murdered on his way home from work. Interestingly, two days prior to his murder the SHO led a raid against drug dealers which resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of a large cache of contraband. Qasmi had been receiving threats to his life following the drug bust.
