ISLAMABAD - PML-N government on first day of 15th session of the National Assembly said albeit recent Indian aggression is a matter of serious concern but it is unwise to wage war on it.
"Both India and Pakistan are nuclear countries and we have kept this capability with full responsibility. If India thinks that we will remain silent against aggression then it is their misconception," said Safron Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch, initiating debate on recent Indian aggression across LoC and Sialkot Working Boundary.
"If any country possesses nuclear capability for its defence then it is not meant for lying in the cold storage as it could also be used," minister said, but rushed to remark that it (his argument) should not be conceived as a threat.
Federal Minister for States and Frontier Region (Safron) said that cross-border firing by India was a matter of serious concern but it could not lead to a full blown war between the two countries and the matter was being discussed at DGMOs level.
He further said that incumbent government has discussed this matter in National Security Committee meeting. Baloch also vowed to stand by Kashmiris and said that they would not be left alone.
Taking the floor, MQM's Asif Hasnain said Pakistan has full capability to respond to Indian aggression but they are against creating a disastrous scenario. "Issues could be resolved on table...it is evident that wars of 1965 and 1971 were not beneficial for any country," he added.
A treasury benches’ MNA Khusro Bakhtiar rejected the Indian allegations on Pakistan regarding situation at LoC. He termed firing at civilian as a human rights issue. "We need to tell India that we want peace but with dignity," he said, adding that the issue needs to be raised on different other forums. He said Pakistan army can't think of harming Kashmiris for whom Pakistan has been raising voice at international forums.
Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid lauded Pakistani forces for befitting response to Indian aggression. Pakistan army also shifted the civilians injured in this aggression to CMH Sialkot, he said. PPP's Dr Azra Fazal Peecho believed India opened a new front to deflect Pakistan from its counter terrorism operations.
