ELLAHABAD - The officials and workers of Lesco Ellahabad sub-division flanked by a large number of leaders and workers of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Labour Union protested against the policies and the behaviour of the Lesco Ellahabad SDO. They demanded the Lesco authorities to dismiss the SDO from service forthwith otherwise the workers would be compelled to launch a massive protest to get their demand accepted.
On the occasion, they accused that the SDO forced workers to illegal night-checking duty which had been banned by government. They claimed that Meter reader namely Muhammad Anwar died the other night while doing illegal night checking duty. The protesting workers expressed grave concern over the misbehaviour of the SDO with the subordinate staff, demanding the higher authority to launch an inquiry to check the overbilling and corruption in the Ellahabad sub-division. They claimed that they would provide evidence of corruption if the Lesco called an inquiry into the allegations against the SDO. “We will provide a list of 20 numbers for checking and further 20 numbers to strengthen their allegations,” they asserted.
They demanded the Lesco high-ups to immediately transfer the SDO to end “what they corruption” in the sub-division.
