Teachers against transfer

PESHAWAR - Activists of All Female Teachers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday staged a protest demonstration against the transfer of headmistresses to far-flung areas and merging of girls schools into other areas' schools.
The protest demonstration was led by All Female Teachers Association (AFTA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Nazakat Kalsum Zeb, General Secretary Aliya Bibi and a dozen of female headmistresses and teachers. They were holding placards and banner inscribed with slogans against the authorities concerned.
The protesting teachers alleged that EDO Female Samina Ghani was trying to merge the city district schools for girls into other schools in violation of the prescribed rules and regulations. They also accused the EDO of transferring female headmistresses to far-flung areas of the district.
They said that the EDO concerned transferred several headmistresses to those areas where militants were threatening female teachers due to which a number of schools were closed in these areas. It was very difficult for female teachers to perform their duties in these localities.
