KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed the Sindh chief secretary to provide details of the Jamrao Canal Project till April 28, otherwise, the matter will be referred to the NAB for probe.

When SHC Chief Justice SHC Sajjad Ali Shah took up case for hearing on Friday, the secretary irrigation appeared before the court.

The judge, “How billions of rupees contract was awarded in such haste?” 

The secretary irrigation replied “there was threat of flood, therefore, the contract was awarded hurriedly.”

The court while adjourning the hearing till April 28 directed Sindh Chief Secretary Siddique Memon to file complete details of the project by April, 28. “If the complete record and details are not provided, then, the matter will be referred to the NAB,” the judge said.
