LAHORE (Online) Jamaatud Dawa Amir Hafiz Saeed has said the JuD is against suicide attacks and it has no links with Qaeda. In an interview with a private TV channel, he said: There is no room for terrorism in Islam. He criticised the government for his detention. I was released on the court orders. I have no hand in the Mumbai attacks. No case has been proven against me, but I have been kept in house arrest repeatedly, he said, alleging the government detained him on the demand of India. He claimed that the government changed six judges to prevent his release. The JuD is not against the US and any other state and is in agreement with the religious scholars who have issued edicts against suicide attacks, Saeed said, adding that his group was not against India. But, he said, the JuD was against the Indian occupation in Kashmir. We dont think the Indian occupation is justified and we have raised the issue on all forums, said Saeed, adding that he openly criticised India for the use of force in IHK and this was the central point of conflict between the JuD and India. We support independence movement in IHK while India has underplayed the Kashmir dispute using its economic power, he said. After the 9/11 attacks, India secured successful entrance to the Afghan soil and was hatching conspiracies from there to destabilise Balochistan and the country, he added. He said Zakiur Rehman Lakhwi was a JuD scholar and had nothing to do with the Mumbai attacks.
