All set for by-polls

All necessary arrangements have been finalised for holding by- election in PA-123 today in Sialkot. The seat was vacated by Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif while the Pakistan Muslim League-N has awarded the ticket to Khawaja Muhammad Manshaullah.
The candidates of PML-N, Pakistan People Party and PTI are contesting the by-election. Apparently, the position of PML-N candidate is strong because the business community and traders are supporting the PML-N candidate. Besides, PPP candidate Hajji Mustaq Mughal is contesting the election on the basis of Mughal clan and business community because Sialkot Industrial Estate is in the limit of PA-123.
Meanwhile, 103 polling stations have been established out of which 37 for males, 37 for females while 29 are combined. Out of these stations, 12 have been declared sensitive in Sialkot.
The election campaign was concluded last night and the candidates contesting on the seat along with their supporters fully availed the advantage of canvassing and holding corner meetings in the constituency for getting maximum votes.
In Muzaffargarh, District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Abdul Jabbar has directed all the SDPOs and SHOs of the five circles of the district to take solid steps for the maintenance of law and order during by-elections. He was presiding over a meeting at police line.
All the members of District Peace Committee, President of District Bar Malik Junaid Wajdani, Secretary, President City Press Club Dr Khalid Mehmood Zaffar, President Anjuman Tajrain Syed Amir Hussain Shah, President of Electronic Media Rana Sheraz Bashir, SDPOs and SHOs attend the meeting.
In Rahim Yar Khan, by-elections will be conducted in PP-289 and PP-292. From PP-289, 13 candidates will contest and from PP 292, three candidates will contest the by-poll.
On PP-289 Muslim League N’s candidate Raees Mehboob Ahmad and People’s Party candidate Mian Muhammad Aslam Advocate will be competing. In the last elections, Muslim League N had won the seat.
