QUETTA - Railways employees Wednesday staged a protest against the torture of their colleague allegedly by Frontier Corps personnel at Sardar Munir Road railway crossing, delaying Karachi-bound Bolan Mail for about an hour.
The protesting officials told the media that FC personnel had gone to a railway employee, Allah Bakhsh, when he was performing his duty at the railway crossing at Sardar Munir Road. The FC men asked him to go to shop and bring some goods but he refused as Bolan Mail was about to pass from the crossing, the PR workers said, adding that the personnel got infuriated and tortured Allah Bakhsh.
A large number of Railways employees reached the site to protest against the torture, caused one-hour delay in departure of Bolan-Mail. However, they called off the protest after an FC officer assured them of taking notice of the incident.
