PESHAWAR- PTI chief Imran Khan today called upon the federal government to equip the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police with tools to effectively counter terrorism.
He was addressing a press conference in the provincial capital. Terming terrorism as Pakistan's national problem, Imran said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on the frontline in combating the scourge.
He demanded the federal government to deploy Frontier Constabulary (FC) forces in the province.
“Police are not trained for this,” he added.
“We need to fix border control. We need to stop this unregulated movement,” he added.
He also talked about the issue of IDPs and illegal mobile registrations.
Senior PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan also lauded the stance taken by Imran Khan, saying that a national consensus against terrorism was essential.
