Zardari persuading Bilawal to attend ZAB’s death anniversary

ISLAMABAD - PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has started making efforts to woo his son Bilawal to at least attend grandfather’s Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary, as he has already missed four major functions related to party. Zardari, who is currently in Dubai and may proceed to London, before leaving abroad, has contacted his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to convince him for giving some more statements to quash the reports related to differences between them.
The PPP Co-chairman has also taken Bilawal into confidence about allocation of Senate tickets to PPP members, besides making his mind to return Pakistan and attend upcoming death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB).
The presence of PPP’s disgruntle member Zulfiqar Mirza, who has recently made allegations against his old buddy (Zardari), has also made PPP Co-Chairman to take his son into confidence about party affairs  and convince him to once again start taking interest in party’s affairs.
Background interactions with PPP’s senior members also showed that Zardari might also visit to London for meeting Bailawal and to hold meeting with MQM Supermo Altaf Hussain to give final touches to deal about MQM’s return to Sindh government.
Albeit PPP’s senior members for last some months have been establishing the fact that there were no differences between Zardari and Bilawal, yet no body has confidently made a single statement about the exact return of their party’s chairman to Pakistan. The PPP’s members have found encouraging the recent tweet of Bilawal apparently against Zulfiqar Mirza for levelling allegations against his father. When contacted, Asif Ali Zardari’s Spokesman Senator Farhatullah Babar confirmed contact between Bilawal and his father to discuss different matters. “Asif Ali Zardari talked to his son Bilawal but it is not sure that he will leave to London for meeting him,” said Babar.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is reportedly in UK (London) for last couple of months and had missed four important functions of the party. There was no word from Bilawal about skipping the anniversary, as for the first time since Benazir Bhutto’s assassination in 2007, her son preferred to stay out of the country.
Though party has given ‘security concerns’, as reason behind the absence of Bilawal, yet months of absence has further established reports of his annoyance with his father.
Bilawal is reportedly interested to run party affairs according to his ‘will and wishes’ by appointing some new faces in the party on account of reviving the party.
On Bilawal’s annoyance over party’s affairs a couple of months before, sources said, the PPP co-chairman had also gone to London to persuade his ‘angry’ son to return home so that he could attend the anniversary event in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh (on 27th December) in Sindh province, but he did not succeed.
When contacted, PPP’s senior leader Senator Rehman Malik said that there were no differences between Bilawal and Zardari. “Bilawal’s recent tweet has established this fact and quash all the rumors,” he said, but not given a sure reply about return of Bilawal to county. “Bilwal will return soon to Pakistan,” he only remarked.
Talking to The Nation, PPP’s another senior member Senator Taj Haider said that there were no differences between Zardari and Bilawal.
About any attempt of a meeting between Zulfiqar Mirza with Bilawal, he said it would not harm relation between father and son. To another question, he said that Amin Fahim has always settled party’s difficult matters.  He was also optimistic about Amin Fahim’s role to ‘settle the dust’.
