MULTAN - The preparations to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi (SAWW) are underway briskly as a number of Milad rallies were taken out here on Monday. The members of milad committees, traders, citizens and students were seen busy in decorating streets, bazaars and buildings with green flags, buntings and other articles in almost all areas of Multan district. Similarly, almost all notable buildings of the city are being illuminated. “Main trading centres of Multan like Hussain Agahi, Haram Gate, Pak Gate, Bohar Gate, Delhi Gate, Gardezi Market, Main Market Shah Rukan-e-Alam, Gulshan Market New Multan and Chowk Kumharanwala are being beautified to celebrate the occasion with full religious fervour,” said a trader leader Akhtar Butt.
Meanwhile, Milad Committee Shah Rukan-e-Alam, Sunni Tehrik, Jamia Ghausia Dar ul Quran, Anjuman Sarfroshan Islam and many other religious organizations brought out rallies from different city areas. The rallies were led by political and religious leaders including Senator Rafiq Rajwana, former MPA Nafees Ansari, Hafiz Moen Khalid, Prof Hanif Chaudhry, Hamza Shahid Lodhi and others.
The participants of the rallies marched on city roads and chanted slogans. The speakers said on the occasion that the solution to all problems being faced by the Muslim Ummah lied on Sunnah. They asked the Muslims to enforce Mustafwi code of life on themselves and feed their children with halal maal to bring peace and blessings back to our society. They warned that no power on the earth could snatch Islamic identity from Pakistan. They stressed upon the rulers to play a practical role for the implementation of Nizam-e-Mustafa in the country.
The citizens set up sabils of tea, juice and soft drinks to serve the participants of rallies. The routes of the rallies were guarded by police contingents.
ROADS COMPLETED: PPP MPA Syed Nazim Hussain Shah inaugurated two farm-to-market roads schemes on Monday to facilitate the farmers.
The two metal roads schemes with a combined length of 15-km were completed at a cost of Rs2 million, linking villages Basti Walvat and Basti Gagraan of NA-152 constituency with the city of saints. The facility would help immediate transport of perishable items like fruit and vegetables to the market besides facilitating the commuters, the MPA said. The farm to market road scheme was completed as a part of the Prime Minister’s development package for southern Punjab. Local PPP leaders Malik Rafiq Walvat, Shery Khan, Nawab Khan and a number of villagers were present on the occasion.
