ISLAMABAD: The senior police officer of Islamabad police AIG Capital Territory Police Aashir Hamid has been found dead mysteriously at his residence situated at Police Lines.

After the incident the senior police officers including IG Islamabad  have reached the Sabzi Mandi Police Station under which jurisdiction police lines falls. The service of Aashir Hameed were handed over to Islamabad Police in October last year. He was performing the duty of Additional Inspector General Operations and Establishment.

After posting to Islamabad he stayed at room No 36 of MNA Hostel in the beginning after which he was allotted official accommodation in officers luxury room at police lines like other officers of PSP group. The police said that AIG Aashir Hameed used to go Lahore to meet his family on every Friday but on 22 July he found dead in mysterious condition in his room.

The police sources disclosed that there was bleeding from his mouth and nose. Initially the reason is  being termed as natural death but the real cause would be determined after post-mortem.

The sources said that he was tangled in some office affairs. Some months ago his brother was died due to cardiac failure and he was much depressed on the death of his brother.

It is also known that IG Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin recently  had transferred him to Quetta but he was not ready to relinquish his charge due to reason he was in mental tension.

It is pertinent to mention here that Aashir Hameed before his transfer to Islamabad he was working SSP (Investigation) at Faisalabad Region, from where he was transferred to Punjab Investigation Branch Lahore in July 2012. Afterwards he was transferred to Islamabad.

The luxury rooms which were constructed many years ago at Police Lines Islamabad for the residence of the officers living alone whereas eight newly constructed bungalows are reserved for the officers having family with them. He was living unaccompanied in the luxury rooms.

Police staff deputed at police lines knocked the door of his room after passage of 18 hours of his death. On not coming any response from inside the police officials opened the lock of the door with extra key. Then he was laying in the condition that his mouth was towards earth.

The sources said that he might be suffered a brain haemorrhage due to his death was occurred because there was blood traces on his mouth as well as nose. On the other hand his death is also being declared as murder or suicide. According to media report he was shot down, however police did not confirm it, when contacted by ‘Online’. 

IG Islamabad avoided media on the occasion.
