ISLAMABAD - Federal Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid yesterday said Karachi operation was started with the consensus of all political forces and the government will continue this spirit to maintain law and order in the city.
Talking to media here he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has returned to Islamabad and is effectively fulfilling his responsibilities. The PM will chair the meeting of National Security Committee and the situation of Karachi, Indian Held Kashmir and terrorism issues will also be part of the meeting agenda, he added. Rashid said, Kashmiris exercised their votes freely and independently to elect their representatives, which is a good omen for democracy. He said the government of Pakistan will honour mandate of the people of Azad Kashmir.
Criticising the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman, the minister said Imran Khan dreamed of toppling the government in past but ended his sit-in with his own marriage. He said the entire nation was observing Black Day against Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir but Imran Khan remained aloof to this cause and kept busy in announcing an anti government movement.
He said it is callousness of Imran Khan that he always announced protest movement in August when the entire nation celebrates its independence. Answering another question, the minister said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has very effectively raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at world fora, including the United Nations Security Council.
