Token protest against outages from 25th

SIALKOT - Power loadshedding up to 20 hours has crippled the industrial and business activity, pushing the export-oriented industry of Sialkot to the verge of collapse. The Sialkot Chamber has taken up the issue with all concerned pressing for getting all possible relief especially for the industry dominated feeders. However, the government has miserably failed to control extensive and persistence loadshedding forcing us to protest.
The worthy members are fully aware that a meeting was held at the Sialkot Chamber on June 19, 2012, wherein heads of trade bodies and all participants expressed great concern over the forced loadshedding and resolved that all options to impress upon the government for restoring electricity supply would be exploited including all types of protests.
After deliberating at length, on future line of action and strategy, to show our resentment and grievance, it was decided that the exporters would stop receiving payments against their foreign orders for Three Days from 25 to 27 June, 2012. This would be a token protest, a warning to the authorities that if the issue is not addressed on war footing, the future protest can be much harsher like protests on the roads, shutter down strike, non-payment of taxes etc. It is therefore requested that all the members join us in this protest and do not receive foreign payments for three days from 25th June to 27th June 2012, so that Government does not get foreign exchange or any taxes during these three days from Sialkot.
