London- Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) head, Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri accused the Nawaz government of fearing his arrival and so plotting to divert his plane to either Lahore or Sialkot.
Qadri stated that supporters expected to receive him at Islamabad Airport; analysts consider this the greatest welcome reception in the history of Pakistan for a leader that will further include the attendance by the leaders of PTI, PML-Q, MQM and PPP.
According to him, "I have direct reports from inside sources that Nawaz Sharif is planning to divert my flight to Lahore or Sialkot so that millions who will come to arrive at Islamabad Airport would not listen to my speech."
He also accused Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif of ordering the Punjab Police on June 17 to conduct the brutal murder of 11 men, 3 women and a youth—an event regarded as the worst massacre in the nation’s history.
Before departing from London, Dr. Qadri declared, "I am determined to be with the people of Pakistan who are in dire need of peaceful revolution to curb the brutal regime of Nawaz family."
Mr. Shahid Mursaleen , Qadri’s spokesman and fellow traveller, further added: "If Dr. Qadri is arrested at the Airport or his flight is diverted, we will stage a sit-in in the country and it will mean an immediate end of PML-N regime."
